What Constitutes Ragging?

• Physical or mental harassment of fellow students.
• Bullying, teasing, or intimidating juniors.
• Forcing students to perform acts against their will.
• Any verbal or written abuse, insults, or humiliation.
• Disrupting academic or personal life through threats or coercion.

Punishments for Ragging (As per UGC & Indian Law)

• Suspension from classes and academic privileges.
• Fine up to ₹50,000.
• Rustication from the institution for a period.
• Expulsion from the institute and ineligibility for admission elsewhere.
• Filing of a criminal case under IPC Sections 323, 506, and 509.
